Beef, Sauerkraut, and Potatoes

Beef or pork short ribs

Can or bottle of sauerkraut
Potatoes - peeled and cut in quarters
brown sugar
Brown ribs in hot oil or bacon grease in baking pan, add salt and pepper. Place potatoes on top of meat and salt and pepper. Add sauerkraut and sprinkle with about 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Add about 2 cups water and bake at 350 for 2 to 3 hours.
After cooking the same things for so many years, I realized I don't have exact recipes any more. You will need to experiment with seasonings and water amounts.
Many of the things I cook for Sunday dinner I cook for three or four hours. I realized that I don't really know if it takes that long to cook baked steak or roast. It's funny how we set so much of our lives around what we do at church, even cooking.
